In dramatic dialogue, would it be okay NOT to drop the definite article from a character's name?
To note, if writing for an American audience, the comma is placed differently and omitted where the question mark is used: "Well, didn't I say it would take them less than a week?" said the Frenchman. / "That wasn't the bet," said the Englishwoman.

How to break dialog with narrative in a single sentence?
You said em-dash, but you used hyphens in your example. This has now been corrected in an edit.

You should not use a hyphen (-) in place of an em dash (—).

Are deity/god names protected by copyright or trademark?
@AmiralPatate Characters can be copyrighted, but characters' names generally cannot be because there is insufficient creativity in an ordinary name. If a character appears in multiple works such that their name becomes an indicia of origin, then it can be registered as a trademark.

What is the meaning of square brackets in quotes?
@Davislor We can change the punctuation at the end of a quote for other reasons too. For example, a bible study director might ask "What did God mean when He said, 'Let there be light?'" This is because it would look silly to try to stack punctuation together, as in the alternative, "[...] 'Let there be light.'?". Or, in the American style with all punctuation within the quotation marks, "[...] 'Let there be light.?.'"
