@Jules: The list is in no particular order. You could argue though that people getting the A-grade marketing treatment from a traditional publisher is also the "exception rather than the general rule", so for the majority of authors getting eyeballs/fanbase for their work as a whole is just as big a problem as using/losing first print rights for a single work.

comment Is it a bad idea to vary the voice of the narrator in third person (limited omniscient)?
I don't know why, but I've always disliked the term "limited omniscient". I think "3rd person limited" and "omniscient" as separate things is better. (Not criticising Nate, it's a widely used term these days.)
