I'm editing an art exhibit catalog. The paintings featured are primarily portraits, most often titled simply with the subject's name. What is the best practice for including birth-death dates of the portrait subjects? Within the exhibit card content (which would alter the text from what is in the museum)? Or in footnote or other explanation?
