A big chunk of the story involves hydden characters from Brum, but we don't exactly know where or what that is. The story reaches a point when all the major characters are on their way to Brum (and, for me at least, a point where I was desperate to know more about Brum) and then takes a time-out for the equivalent of a full chapter of exposition on Brum and its history. Perfectly placed to pay off the built-up curiosity. Damn, Horwood is a good writer. | |
