That might be a way to present him as more sympathetic. He might not like or relate to other people, but how about how he treats his dog? People will forgive a lot of bad behavior in those who treat animals well. | |

If he has a friend close enough to him to be a Watson to his Sherlock, it changes his entire story arc. I've also tried using an omniscient narrator, and if anything, that makes it all worse rather than better. | |
