When you leave that space you are taking a break. This has the advantage of a dog-permeable barrier.

I have two American Cocker Spaniels (one with dreadful separation anxiety), so I take them to workplaces with me and they sleep beautifully under the table. The problem is, they look like teddy bears, and so I get strangers interrupting me every ten minutes asking if they can pet them and what breed they are. I found a co-working place near my home, but the fees are extortionate, I can't afford them. Hopefully, in the future finances will allow an office.
