The Marshall Plan for Novel Writing by Evan Marshall is widely available, and allows for the planning of a novel scene by scene in its entirety prior to writing. He also has analyzed works in various genres, e.g. thrillers, and averaged their lengths. Thrillers turned out to be 120,000 words. This can then be broken down into scenes, and a novel of that length contains 96 sections or scenes. This information may be helpful to DoctorWhom. | |
